Fifty Cents

Fifty Cents
Just give me 50 cents worth.

No more. No less.

A perfect standoff. Nobody wins. It is a tie.

How do you break a tie? Shouting louder? Throw a rock?

Anger erupts when nobody wins. It’s not the numbers on the outside, but the feeling of losing on the inside. Or should I say fear?

There is brooding chaos in our land of the free. Isolated we have not seen the horror of chaos. In the sands and destroyed lives of the black flag.

Part of our deep confusion comes from only knowing half of the truth. We are basing opinions and emotions on half of the story.

We have entrusted our future and our lives to our medias. From Facebook to Twitter to television to newspapers and tabloids…. We consume half-truths with an occasional “aha!” when we think we have it figured out… the Truth … that is….

We are great people who are more intelligent than given credit for…. If we know the Truth. We can make our own minds up. Bias in the media is a cancer distorting the very facts we need to survive. Being one who reports to the public is a sacred responsibility. No more noble a calling. No room for shading. Writing and choice of words is a sacred art. The truth must be respected and presented with integrity and humility. Then and only then is the reporter serving the public.

Not half the truth.

We deserve the “Whole Truth and nothing but the Truth, so help me God”.

Helping us search and find where we are meant to go. Helping us make a difference. Helping us not to quit. Hopefully.
