My Terms

My TermsI am going to do everything you ask as long as it is on my terms.

I am going to give you money as long as it is on my terms.

I am going to give you hope as long as it is on my terms.

The problem is that we all want everything on our own terms. With the onset of social media, texting, skype, tweeting, facebook… we all can be friends with people who agree with us. So we build up an ego reinforcing PAC… Personal Admiration Committee that insures we are never wrong.

Our country has never been more divided and it is its own fault. Everybody is right. Everyone is yelling. Faces look red and veins blue.

In the end one person gets to call the shots. Or maybe one congress if it can unite and rule…..

Do we remember when we were young and there were rules that sometimes worked? Things your mom or dad said to us that stuck. When their terms became our terms?? How long a list can we make? If we can’t come up with 10 things then we are having more trouble than could admit.

There is evil and there is good. This is an important rule. We are supposed to do good to make the world better. We are supposed to help others to make the world better. Our terms can take us somewhere only if we put others first.

My terms are worthless otherwise.

Ten Commandments???

Helping us search and find where we are meant to go. Helping us make a difference. Helping us not to quit. Hopefully.
