The Bottle

The BottleEveryone carries the bottle these days.  It has even become a fashion accessory to be seen with and adorned.  Holders and hangers abound with designs and personalization.

Yes, the plastic water bottle has over-arrived.  It represents purity, which we aren’t, and health, which we don’t have..  For if we were we wouldn’t be listening to every product ad that promises a better life through purchasing filtered purities.   It is amazing all humanity has not already become extinct.  Only to be saved by plastic.  Yippee!!

We have entered serious times.  No, not those defined by cruelty and nuclear proliferation, but by global warming.  One way or another we are done.

20,000 feet down in the Ryuku trench off Japan are plastic water bottles.  From Antarctica to the Artic the oceans floors abound plastic water bottles.  There are floating garbage patches in every ocean… 14 Billion pounds of waste are dumped into our oceans every year.

So when I see the fashionistas and celebrities flouting their plastic….  Oops I mean bottles…  I think of the oceans carrying away our laziness to the horizons.

Well, at least I refill my bottle from the tap.  Nobody has died from tap water that I know.  If it were so bad how did I live this long??  But this now makes me anti something.  Once labeled these days you can’t get the sticker off.  Labels come with super glue and there will be some protest group protesting my right to drink tap water…..  if they can catch me.

Now don’t get me started on sanitizers…
